hi all. new to the dually world so hope this isn't too basic. i have a used 2002 f350 dually and was curious about using the spare. since the front wheel rims stick out, and the rear outter rims stick in, and the rear inner wheel sticks out, is there anything special about using the spare tire? just curious to know before i have a flat.
Do you have one? I dont, from what I understand it was special order in 99... Not sure on the other years. If I get a flat I just planned on moving them around and flipping the rears to go upfront. I gotta find some wood to knock on
The rim is universal just turn it to make it fit the hub you want, as for a spare its not a big deal to take off one rear wheel and move it to the front to drive to get another tire. I've done it on several occasions with my old 88
As was said above, all 7 rims are exactly alike, you can move them anywhere you want.
If you are worried about rotating your tires, (rotational direction). then just keep the rims in the same orientation when you do it.
Front to back same side.....Fronts go to the rear inside, rear insides go to the front...outside rears stay in the same place.
Fronts to opposite sides rear....Fronts go to the rear outsides, outside rears go to the opposite fronts.... inside rears stay in the same place.
Now that I have you throughly confused, I think there's a good diagram in your owners manual...
As was said above, all 7 rims are exactly alike, you can move them anywhere you want.
Unless you have the aluminum rims. Then rotating tires becomes much more fun. The spare is just a steel argent, so you can use it in any position that goes flat.
