That's a pretty nice new truck unrulee, but I still love your 79 F-250. I'd give all of my roommate's stuff for it! I'm sure he wouldn't mind very much.
In December I bought a 1996 F250 CC short box, 460 out of California. 57K on it and I got it for 7K. Thought it was a pretty good deal. I wanted the bright blue but this one in the funny green/blue tourmaline color. Looks pretty good.
I already added the Ford/Alcoa aluminum wheels and a Prodigy brake controller.
I'm going to put headers, supercharger, gear vendors and ad 85 c.i.'s to it. Should be a pretty good tow rig then. I was pretty happy it made between 12.5 to 14.4 on the way up here. Not too bad for a 460 3/4 ton.
Thats a really good deal. One of my friends has an 89 F250 RC/LB 460/C6 and he swears it only gets 6 MPG and refuses to tune it up because he doesn't think it will get any better and therefore its a waste of money. He uses the thing like a car and never hauls anything and drives it only around town.
I was really considering a 96 F250 Extended cab/long box 460/ZF5 for a while but I decided to just put a hitch on my Jeep and get a trailer, then I can still get 20 MPG and haul only when I need too.
~nobody - It's pretty hard to miss. Since we restored it in '03 we have had it in shows at Dickinson, Richardton, Medora and I've had it at Buggies N' Blues a couple times.
~unrulee - I've been watching for your white rig, but have yet to see it. I have been driving my supercab the last couple weeks while my car was in the shop. But now that I have it back it's going to be back to driving my car (Black '97 cougar). Can't afford to feed that thirsty 400
