Just purchased this 99 F-150. Has 120K miles on it. Runs like it has 20 miles on it. RUNS BEAUTIFUL. Yesterday when I went outside to start it, for some reason it would turn and crank over awesome, but it seemed like there was no gas getting to the engine to ignite the start up. What do you guys think it is. Gas is fine, always buy gas at the local Mobile, so I know it wouldnt be bad gas. Sounded like it wanted to start but it just wouldn't turn over. I went back out to the truck like 15 minutes later and it started right up. temperature is around 35 degrees, so lines arent frozen, tank is like 1/2 full??? Battery is brand new!
Any help, would be great. I am thinking spark plug or wires?? Could I be right?
I would try cleaning the IAC. They are know to stick in cold weather when they get some age on them.
Next time it does it, try holding down the gas pedal about 1/2" and see if it will start that way. If so, the IAC is failing.
