Clutch problems??
I'm tryin to tune up my 400 in my 79 f250, and I think I got it goin pretty good, but I still get a problem with when I come off idle. The rpm's go under idle, and it takes a second to get back up to speed. When I get to higher rpms, after I take the clutch out, it's fine. I'm wonderin whether or not this could be a problem with the clutch, or just engine problems still? I'm gonna straight-up my timing hopefully by next week, so we'll see if that helps. Any suggestions would help, like any adjustments that can be made to the clutch.

this sounds more like a carb. or timing problem. try setting your timing and see if that helps. if this doesn't help I would move on to the carb.try rebuilding it or at least put a new accelerator pump on it.
if the clutch was slipping the engine would rev-up and the truck would be jerky with no apparent gain of speed.
