Will an ODB-II reader like Auto-Tap, read more than the standard ODB-II?, or can only a Ford dealer read those. (like trans temp, turbo readings, etc....)
There are certain OBD testers that can do that. Pro Scan can do a stuff like that, by using your home computer as the tool, with a OBD link through your USB. There are a couple of other tools that can be used with a variety of cables for diagnostics. I don't have the specific website to check, but I will et back to ya'll

I have the AutoEnginuity Scan Tool with the Enhanced Ford Interface and it will read all of the sensors on these heavy trucks. It also runs various KOEO and KOER tests, freeze frames and realtime monitoring. It is a great diagnostic tool for those of us that like to play with our trucks.
Autotap will read the Ford sensor data if you buy the Ford software package. I bought Autotap and I bought the Ford package with it. It is a great tool and I highly recommend it.
It definitely will read the tranny temp sensor data on the gas motors. I haven't looked to see if the turbo data is there too.
