wastegate ?

I unhooked the red line and pluged it.
Do i need to do anything with the canister?

No. I disconnected the whole thing from the system at all three points. For those of you who are curious, yes there are three different ports for that little control valve. One goes directly to the Y-pipe, the other two are more visible being the red and green plastic lines. I capped the port on the y-pipe with a vaccum cap and zip tie, left the electrical part plugged in to avoid codes and zip tied the whole thing down so it wouldn't flop around.

is there any advantage to doing it the way you did should i do it that way? Could I plug off the green one also untill i get some vacum caps?

If you want to disable the wastegate then it's best to remove it like I did because it eliminates a path for boost leak.
