Remove A/C radiator???

First, let me say a thank you to all who helped me with this related thread - https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/s...d.php?t=442794

So I disconnected my radiator (I have the two inch thick radiator as this truck was first sold in Arizona and needed the extra cooling). I got the same radiator as a replacement. When I got the old one out of the truck I saw how large the radiator for the air conditioner is. It is about 95% the size of the radiator I am replacing.

Since I have used the air conditioner a total of six times in the 9 years I have had the truck I am thinking of getting rid of the radiator that is used for the air conditioner. I guess I would plan on just plugging the lines that go to the unit.

Is this a bad idea for me to remove the air conditioner radiator? Will the truck get too cool (because the main radiator is behind the radiator for the air conditioner and blocks some of the air)? I have no idea what the problems (if any) might be. Does anyone have any insight into this?

Thanks.

No this will not cause any problems
engine coolant is controled by the thermostat
if you are going to remove a working a/c then
you should remove everything just to ease
the cleanliness of the engine bay and make
easier to work on
this will mean a shorter belt and maybe a
differant belt routing
also a complete working system should have
good resale value

Leave the condensor alone . If the AC isnt being used--it will not add heat to the radiator. I cant see removing and destroying a working air conditioner. If you want added cooling--get one of those four row aftermarket radiators.

Leave your truck with a working air conditioner--when you want to sell the truck --you will get more money for it. And the next owner will appreciate your nice truck with a working air conditioner.

I bet that your two inch/two row Super Cooling optioned truck isnt overheating ---if the cooling system is in good order.

Heck, if you don't care about A/C ,leave the second radiator in as a stone guard. You might have dried all the seals out in the A/C though, and leaked all the coolant.

BTW, love that supercooling! Never worry 'bout the truck when it's 110 outside, and I'm stuck in stop and go with the A/C running!

I ended up leaving on the radiator for the a/c, just buttoned her up and took her for a test drive. All is well and I am happy about it.

The A/C "radiator" is called the condenser. I also see no reason to remove a working A/C.
