steering shaft

I have a 1979 f-150 4x4 short box reg cab. I need a new steering shaft. Mine is wore out were the 2 shafts slide together. Can the shaft be rebuilt, can you rebuild or make your own. I looked into a borgsen but at 350 dollar canadian I was looking for a cheaper option. Any help or comments would be welcome. thanks

I got a whole new tilt steering column for my 78 at a used auto parts store for $50. Just had to tighten up the knuckle in the tilt and it is as good as new.

Check out a site called www.#####.com , they have a site just for 70's Fords, lots of good parts, got my hard to find u-joint there. I couldn't find it anywhere in Virginia. Good Luck.
