Maybe I missed something by not going to this class , the Tech at the dealership in Marble Falls Tx. told me the Service Engine Soon light came on and set a code of water in fuel.
I have had water in the fuel before but it has always come up on the instrument cluster as such, and never as a service engine soon light. It lit up on a friday and I was told they didn't have time to check for codes as it took three hours to do it on a diesel and they were booked. Made an appointment for the following tuesday used the truck Fri, Sat, Sun, Mon, with light still lit every time I drove the truck, on the way to the shop tuesday the light went out. Had 1/4 tank of fuel when it lit up and had just filled up when it went out.
Dealership never looked at the truck all week, picked it up the next friday and made another appointment for the following tuesday, had truck at dealership at 6 am it still set there till sometime wed, afternoon before it was looked at, can't say how hard they look either because this is twice I have had it in for a vacuum leak too causing the dash to go to defrost when the truck is shut off, and they can't find anything wrong.
Truck also squats real bad, way below level with a gooseneck unloaded trailer tounge weight of 1500# hooked up and they say this is normal.
I have owned four diesels in the past five years and never had the engine lite set a code for water in fuel, and none of them squated like this one does never mind that this truck is supposed to be able to carry a lot more weight. Plus taking three hours to run the code check seems excessive to me .
Maybe somebody here can recommend you to a dealer that has good diesel techs in your area. In my experience working at Ford dealers, there are alot of techs have no interest in looking at diesel engines, and will try many things to get rid of you so they can move onto easier work. Sad, but true.
Around here 2 hours labor is the norm for diesel diagnosis.
If you can - get to another dealer ASAP. Looks like this one overschedules its tecks or teck and puts you in a bind. If this is on your 06 then it should be covered by the warranty.
Dealership says nothing is wrong but has conceded that it does in fact squat too much; both techs stated that theirs doesn’t sit that low on the rear. They gave me a phone number to call and try and get Ford to give them permission to change the springs, seems like they want someone else to do the leg work for them.
Only bought the truck from them because they have tried for years to get my business since Dealership reorganized, promised they were a lot better now (not).
When I bought my 2000 model I put the plastic plates with the other dealers name out on my mailbox so that this dealer had to see it every time they drove by to go home or work, they live two doors down from me. When my daughter bought her mustang from them they sent a sales person by and asked if I would remove the competing dealers tags off the mailbox, I told him no because I didn’t buy anything from them.
It is an 06 next time I can be without it for a while I'll get it to another dealer closest one is 60 miles away.
That's too bad your next closest dealer is 60 miles away. Maybe it's worth it though to get your truck fixed right. Then you can change the plastic plates again!

LMAO!
there is your problem. as for you doing the legwork, well they dont get paid for it, only for turning book hours.
