Idle Questions
hey everyone, I have a 1992 f150 5.0 with e40d tranny with 121,000 miles and bout 50,000 on the engine and tranny. Ive had some idle problys the past couple weeks and im not quit sure what it is. It idles perfect when its cold ect. But when it warms up it idles and jumps for a second then goes normal again. It acts like a miss but I hooked up a scanner and it doesnt miss or throw any codes. This ones a mistery for me, I checked my vacuum lines and my egr and they are all good. Any Sugestions? Here are the specs on my truck.

A 92 eec wouldn't detect a misfire, that would be odb2 territory.
A loose/worn distributor could account for this.
a/c compressor kicking in. they do cycle on their own just to circulate lube.
a bubble in the fuel?
rear end gears would not effect engine power. It would affect your seat of the pants meter though
since it would plant that same power better

I have the same year truck and I do notice a 'bumpy idle' when the truck has warmed up...never thought anything of it. The (original) 351W I have in there runs great for its age and mods.
