I am trying to find a tilt steering column for my 1977 Highboy and if i ever do find a good one, how much am i going to pay??? Anybody have a good one?
I have seen some around, you usually can't find them, they find you when you aren't looking. Seen some on ebay go for about $75 in good condition. Have you checked local junk yards?
I saw one on ebay about a month ago, it went for about $100 without steering wheel
I wouldnt mind a tilt column either, By all recolection my truck should have had one since it has factory cruise and I always thought with cruise a tilt cloumn was mandatory, Anyway I would just settle for the horn bar with cruise control buttons since mine are all busted up, no dice thus far.......I check ebay almost everyday
I know the 78-79 steering wheels are a smaller diameter than the 73-77 models but do they both use the same shaft and are interchangeable ? the 80-86 also looks the same as the 78-79 steering wheel.......Anyone got a hollander interchange manual ?
Ryan, I think 78 was the first year tilt was offered and it was in Ranger XLT Lariat only. I'm not sure when a tilt was offered for the 4X4. You may do some careful measuring and may be surprised as to what will fit.
check me on this one guys. ;-)
