My name is jim and i'm a new member, and i need some help. I have an 86 F-150 2WD pickup that just clicks when you try to start it. I replaced both connectors on battery cables, checked all connections, replaced starter solenoid, removed starter and took to Autozone to have tested and it tested out good, put starter back in and it still just clicks when trying to start. Can someone please help? I would greatly appreciate it.

Clean your battery cable connections. Both ends and both surfaces both cables. Make sure that your battery is fully charged. Also insure that you have good clean connections on the ground between the engine and the chassis. Then try it again.
My guess would also be the battery. He did mention checking the posts and the connectors, but didn't mention anything about the water level or whether it had a good charge or not. if those are goood then I woul dcheck the switch. Another thing would be to check the cable between the starter and the solenoid. Just my two cents but they both might be bad pennies, LOL
