Crazy Dash Light Problem and Start Up Problem
My father in law has a 97 F150 4.6..........Since he has had the truck the digital odometer flashes in and out when he hits bumps in the road, or the odometer will not light up at all until you hit on the dash a few times. But the last couple of days when he turns the key to start the truck the odometer just lights up with several dashes instead of the mileage and the vehicle will not start. When he returns the key to the off position and wiggles the key and cylinder a few times and then turns the odometer lights with the mileage and starts. Has anyone experienced this or know of any cylinder problems/complications in these trucks?? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
