I found a interesting site that uses a lincoln mark 8 - 18" electric fan with up to 4000cfms of cooling with a variable speed fan control . The shroud looks like it will fit our trucks almost perfect . Go to dccontrol.com and click electric fans . Has anyone ever used any of their products ??

Very interesting. I use an electric fan mounted directly to the radiator, a probe style temp switch and relay kit. The units shown here look pretty clean and have the cfm's to cool a diesel! My whole setup wasn't over $160, fan switch, relay and all, so it seems a little pricey to me. But very nice.
I think alot of guys with the 1980-96 F-series trucks do the Lincoln fan conversion. I think the one I used on my original radiator was from a Chevy Corsica (I think). Those do seem pricey. It is a good option though.
hay hot rod ime glad you saw the post . Its not that pricey compared to what a lot of vendors ask for a 2400 cfm fan ( 16" ) with shroud without the controler . And this fan set up should be able to cool just about anything . Ime in Florida and their is no such thing as overkill on a cooling system . I might try this fan with a standard 4 row radiator it should cool great . As much as i like the aluminum radiator a copper 4 row would save me 200 bucks therefore making the fan set up more affordable .
My mom and me got my dad a electric fan (2700 cfm) and shroud combo for his Model A for Christmas. It was $209 plus tax. It came from Cooling Components. We are still working on the install (Everything was crammed into this car) and it is a very nice set-up. The shroud is a thick molded plastic that appears that it will last for years. Here is there website: http://www.coolingcomponentsinc.us.com I would check with them. Good luck.
i looked at their web sight it looks like a real nice unit . Did they say how many amps it draws on start up and continus use ?? What are you going to use as a controler ?

I'm not real sure but they recommend a 30 apm relay. Not sure on a controler either, just trying to get it in right now.
let me know what you decide to use as a controler . Rock Auto has the 18" Lincoln fan ( 1998 mark viii ) for $156.79 and Houston Performance has it for $189 . I will go with the lincoln fan . Still not sure what i will use as a controler (with AC) or whose radiator .
you just might be right !!! I am also going to use the variable speed controler from dc controls , maybe it wont have to run at full speed all the time . I dont think it will be that bad or Lincoln owners would be complaining . I have a 16" spall curved blade now and that is pretty loud . Its only 2070 cfms and that aint going to work in FL during the summer with the air on . I will post on how it works after i get it , probably a few weeks . Just ordered the fan from a place in NY $ 150.00 plus 19 shiping .
happy new year
