I am in need of an OBDII scanner/reader. I am looking at some of the Actron scanner/reader products like the 9135 which a co-worker of mine owns and is very happy with. He will give me a demo tomorrow on his scanner.
I'm also wondering if there are any similarly priced PC based scanner/readers available (up to $250 max) and I am looking for comments from owners of PC based scanners, if available.
I use the autoenginuity software on my laptop. If you get it you need to get the "ford enhanced" version. I like it and use it all the time on my and friends cars. You can buy it on ebay
I use Alex Pepper's software/hardware. It's available from about $120 directly from the author at www.obd-2.com He's local to me so I went over to meet him a few years ago and picked up the stuff directly from him.
The software is incredibly powerful and versatile once you get the hang of it. Some of the operations are not intuitive to a novice user.
