screwed by a mechanic!!!
Man am I pissed!
I posted "wierd noise" a couple of days ago. followed the advice the board gave me and found my problem. I have a 78 that I dropped a 351W in that started making wierd noises in a new muffler. I took it to a mechanic who told me the engine had a bad valve. This was just before I moved from CO to MO so I left the truck in CO (didn't want to drive it 800+ miles towing a car w/a bad valve). A buddy towed it out here for me for $450. Now I find out it was just a muffler! A $30 muffler!
I guess you can't kill mechanics can you?
By the way, thanks to those that gave me advice. Wish I had asked sooner.

You think you get screwed by mechanics try being female for a day.Us girls aren't supposed to know jack about cars but this one does so I will be sure not to let them tell me I need blinker fluid or a muffler bearing that dont even exist. Watch where you go lots of mechanics will try to rip you off if your not careful. They are flat out crooks,but some are really good if you find the right ones.
