do i need stall converter

i am ready to put my cam in my 289 with the hipo heads,i have got 1.6 sig erson roller rockers and hydraulic cam/lifters specs. 290/300 duration @50 is 214/225 lift is 472/496 will i need a stall if so how much.

You should not need any stall with that cam. If you do put one in, I would go with 2200-2500 and not any more than that.

What are you putting it in? A street 2x4 you could go with a higher stall. An off road 4x4 that sees a lot of slow speeds I'd stick to a towing converter. Say around 1600-1800. Any good tranny shop should be able to get yours rebuilt to the stall you need.
