I recently put together my own Baldwin system for around a hundred dollars. Photos in gallery.
So far, I'm very pleased, but don't yet have any real long-term results on which to report. I plan an oil analysis at 5,000, with bypass filter change. If all is well, likely a change at 10,000. Using Baldwin full-flow and Delo 400.

Pop
that's exactly my plan Pop,UOA at 5000 miles and filter change at 6000 miles(because of 16 qts of oil needing a good scrub)and will adjust things according to my UOA...ie bypass change, oil change...etc.
fs 2500 here and it makes me feel good if nothing else. the more the filtering, the better the lube quality. oil doesnt wear out, it only gets dirty. Easy install and easy filter change.
there are lots of them out there, it will be your final decision and comfort level.
I've got the Oilguard. Just check my oil at 10000 miles and it still looks the same as the last time I checked it a 1000 miles ago. Can easily read the dipstick. Don't think I'll change change FF filter, or bypass filter anytime soon either.
Hardest part of installing it is finding a place to mount it.
thanks guys i think im sold.
I think i'm going with the oilguard since. i saw the video on the fs2500 but i bet it is 2x expencive and the oilgaurd.
