i think what your concerned about is a condition called cavation which is a pitting of the outside cylinder walls in the coolant passagescaused by air bubbles in the coolantsticking to the wall & bursting as the piston passes & vibrates the wall which erodes a small part of the iron block each time IF the coolant has not been treated with an additive to prevent the condition.

You can buy the additive right from Ford. I think it is only about $7 a bottle. Cheap insurance. Also get the test kit so you know how much to add.
