Sounds like a diy project. It doesn't sound like it could be much else. Maybe fuel filter.

Thanks for the help.

vibration

My '01 F-150 with the 5.4 did that to me. I was on the way home when it felt like the tranny was slipping or not shifting properly. You could feel the vibration in the steering wheel, but it would only do it under power and you could really tell when it shifted into O/D. I nursed it home than took it to the dealer (still under warranty) two of the COPs went bad. They replaced them and it ran smooth as silk. <O</O

At about 88,000 it happened again but not as severe. As long as you backed off the gas a little it was smooth as soon as you gave it a lot of gas or went up a hill when you needed the power the vibration would start again. It ended up that just one had gone bad this time. Replaced it and it was fine again.<O</O

That describes what this one is doing pretty much. I'll have to pick a couple up and swap them around until it runs better.

Thanks

Is this what I am looking for? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=7998903783

The seller claims they are OEM. For $ 250 it's almost worth just changing all of them. Yes/No?

For what it's worth, our local dealership charged me $80.00 to run a diagnosis for the same problem you're having. They hooked up a tester and took the truck for a test drive. The test identified the bad COP. Went to NAPA and they had them in stock for $69.00. That's a great price for 10 of them, but chances are you'll never need them all...knock on wood!!!

I agree that would be the wisest way to go but I'm not real happy with the local dealership after the last repair so I will not be going back. I would prefer to spend the extra $100 than have to go back or have to play with swapping them out a couple at a time. However, I just do not know if the ones this guy is selling are OEM. He says they are but.......I wish I could be sure before I lay out the money.

Thanks for the reply
