Hey guys, I have a little brake light problem. It seems that when I have the lights on and step on the brake the the tail lights go out and the brake light does not work either. I have checked the bulb and also the ground wire. Does anyone have any other ideas? This is only on the passenger side. Drivers side works normal.
Thanks,
Terry
Couple of things to check:
Is the bulb going in correctly-I've seen where the bulb pins are not engageing properly in the slots in the socket making the bulb incorrectly oriented in the socket.
If you have a voltmeter, check for 12v on the wires. Make sure you put the negative of the meter on the tang in the socket to read the voltage. This will verify you do have a good ground. This reminds me also, that ground tang can get pushed back in the socket and not make good connection.
