My blinkers are working as well as my bright light indicator but the dash light them selves are not. I leave in the morning at 6:00 and don't get home till 6 so I mostly drive in the dark and I can't see my gauges. I only see the out side of my house in sun light on the weekend. I also have a tack that is lighted. It works for a while then goes out. Then it comes back on again. I've looked for loose wires. I've changed bulbs. The head light switch is new. What else should I look for.
If you have one of those test lights with the probe, check your printed circuit sheet on the back of the cluster at one of the bulbs and work back to the plug or if the truck is earlier than 73 check the bulb wires and the main plug.
I'm still lost. I traced wires as best as I could but I really couldn't tell which wire ran the dash lights. The tach light was wired in with a blue wire w/ a pink stripe that ran into the headlight switch. I disconected the wire to the tach and fallowed the blue/pink wire from the headlight switch to the big male connector at the back of the gauges and it looks like it could run the dash lights but I'm not sure. Maybe the blue/pink wire is for the bright light indicator, I don't know. DOES ANY ONE KNOW WHICH WIRE RUNS THE DASH LIGHTS????? This is getting frustrating. I would really like to see my gauges when I go to work in the morning. Any help would be greatly apreciated.

I'll be picking up a test light tomorrow. Come Monday, I WILL have dash lights. By the way, not that this has anything to do with this thread, but I pick up a rough 68 cougar this past weekend. 302 w/ a c4, soon to be T5. It has power steering and will be getting power brakes before Christmas.
It's a SWB too. Light, with a big motor. Just the way I like it. Once I get everything working, then I'm puttin the gas tank behind the rear axle for better traction. Yeah!
