Hey everybody,
I'm going to start fabrication on my four link setup soon and i am deciding between d.o.m. and square tubing for the links. Does anyone have any experience working with either that would yield helpful hints or insight into making this decision? Also my welder is a mig with flux-cored wire but i dont use shielding gas, can i weld d.o.m. with this? Thanks.

DOM would be a better choice for links than square tubing and will be easier to fit threaded ends to if you chose to use heim joints. If you do weld threaded ends to it be sure to have a beveled edge machined on both the inserts and the tubing so your weld will get adequate penetration.
Here's some reading for your pleasure. Please take note about my comments on welding on page 2. I also gave the strength properties of welded tubing and DOM at the end. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/s...d.php?t=436241
