Today I was instaling my gauges and im at the point where I need to tap into the 12v power source for the lights. Can some one give me a diagram or picture of where you tapped into the power?? Thanks Kris
for the illumination source i tapped into the dimmer switch. pull the light switch assembly out it is just clipped in. off the dimmer switch you will see a light blue wire with yellow trace. this is the one i used. for the power source there is a brown plug connector by the steering shaft there is a red wire with yellow trace and that is the one i tapped into for the power to the guages

I've just installed my guages and have no boost, can someone tell me where they tapped in so i can do the same? tried search but it was no help.
The hose from the bottom of the X intercooler manifold to the MAP sensor would be a good place to splice in a tee fitting. Some delete the AIH in the cold side of the intercooler and you can buy a plug from Black Cloud Diesel that is already tapped with 1/8NPT.

Kris, DieselManor has some great pics in their install sheets section. Just click on the Guage Installation Pictures on Ford Powerstroke link.

Yes they have great pictures and instructions on how to do it. I think that comes with being a very good company and would suguest others to use them for their mods.

if the lights work on the guages then you are fine. the boost is a mechanical guage so just make sure the line from you boost guage isnt kinked mine was and i didnt realize until i finished the guage install it is very easy to kink the line because it is just rigid plastic. also if the guage is showing no boost it could be your ebpv being on. mine wont show any until the valve kicks off

thanx guzzle92 that worked great. i had first installed it on the red line going to what looked like the waste gate controller. that is repaired and put on the map line, like in the install sheets on diesel manor. thanx again.
I used these instructions when I installed my gauges: "Gauge lights- Remove the fuse panel cover under the steering column. Look to the right of thr steering column and you will see a brown 6 wire connector. The top center wire in the connector is a light blue wire with a red tracer. This is the wire you want to tap for the gauge lights as it is controlled by the dimmer switch. Note: on 2002 models this wire may be yellow." I found this to be easier than removing the headlight switch. While the cover is removed, you can get "keyed hot" power from a round 4 pin connector near the right corner at the bottom of the opening. Use the red wire with the yellow tracer. This connector is provided for the factory auxillary idle control module.

I just used the blue and yellow striped wire for my power, is this a bad idea? They work fine and I was seening if a fuse was going to blow or not and it never did.
well, i got it working tonight after coming home from the "in-laws " tapped the positive into the lightblue/red wire for the lighting, and tapped into the red/yellow wire on the bare plug that is attached to the metal around the fuse panels. however, now i can get my boost gauge to work (mechanical), and all three will light up but the electronic gauges (tranny and EGT) wont come up to cold temp (gauge falls all the way down to the stop (and 100* on the pyro). the gauges (all 3) would work when i had them wired in incorrectly, not using the blue/red dimmer, but rather the yellow wire on the 6-wire grey connector (from key) for the power, and some other random wires for the lights (and the lights didnt work). i have to make sure the connections at the pyro and trans senders are good.
one thing i ran into, was that the couplings for the pyrometer were different lengths. the red ones were both short, and the yellow ones were both long. this made the connection somewhat of a 90* angle, because the red wires connected were pulling on the assembly (?). yellow/red, yellow/red would make more sense than red/red and yellow/yellow. is the way that i did it correct?
SpoolingF-350, there are many many ways you can wire your gauges. I just happened to use the wiring scheme that diesel manor had. If everything works alright then I would stick to what ya got.
you could tell if it was your power connection or the guage connections by running a wire to the positive terminal of the battery and then to the guages and see if they will work. this is what i had to do it took me a while to find out why my guages werent lighting up or working but then i realized i had a bad ground and it fixed the problem
