yes im looking to buy new wheels for my 72 f100 i was wondering what kind of backspacing i would need i havent yet decided the wheels but i want them to stick outside the truck a little bit but not a WHOLE lot... and does anybody know what wheels look REALLY good on these trucks appreciate the help

I have 4" backspacing and fits fine front and rear on my '67. I had custom wheels made recently so I remember having to measure and worrying about fitting. 15x7 up front and 15x8 out rear.
I would think 4.5-5" would be the max backspacing to have before rubbage on the back fenderwells, depending on what kind of tire you have.
I've seen a few guys use the chrome steel '92-96 F150/Bronco wheels, they are 8" but are really 9" across if you measure them, nice and wide. But I think they have too much backspacing and rub a lil....
