C600 question
Anyone familiar with the governor on a C600? I am looking at a truck that is governed to 55MPH and am wondering how easy it would be to over ride the governor and if it would damage the truck to drive faster.

Part two. Safe speed depends on the drive line. Some of the F-660s were available with a 5 speed with 5th over. Most were either a 4 or 5 speed with hig gear direct. Rear gears also vary from about 5.83 up 8.81. These numbers are with the two speed rears. You need to get some numbers off of the door plate. There should be both transmission and rear gear numbers.
