Well I doubt any of you know me, buty I was here for a while about 1-1/2 yrs ago when I owned my 78 F150. Well I got sick of that money pit and moved around..Had a 87 Cougar, got sick of cars (it got totalled also.. but anyways), and now drive a 93 Ranger 4x4... But I got the bug and the oppurtunity to get another 78.. an F250 this time. It has 4wheel leaves!! woohoo!I got sick of my coils in my other F150. I love my Ranger but it just can't do the heavy duty stuff like pulling freind's chevys off the road and out of the mud when they break. lol..(had to again today, the second time in 1 month!)
I got a couple questions on it.. In 78, for the F250, (4x4) it's supposed to have a D60 rear and D44HD front? Are these axles generally open/open, or was limited slip popular? What kind of gearing can I expect? The truck is just a std. cab, long bed, 4x4, and it sits really low for some reason.. The same height as my old F150. I'm keeping this one low and cutting fenders to run 35's or so this time around.
Ummm, is there anything else weird I should look at that's different/odd compared to a 78 F150? This truck also has a 400, but this one has oil pressure yet.
