I have an 87 f-150 I was wondering if I can do a front end transplant from a newer truck say a 95. Pretty much the grille and headlights. Are they enterchangable?
Hello,
Don't think beyond 91 will transplant without some sheet metal work do to the head light and turn signal configuration change starting in 92, I have wondered as well if the the fenders are a match between 87 & 96 (my guess is they are) if so then you could transplant a complete front to a 87-91.
A less drastic approach might be to change the color of the grill and pin strip on the sides to help dress it. That's what I did, Hope this helps.

there is a guy that has installed a 97 or 96 front end on a 80 some model ford and he had very little problems if any if I am correct but the hood and the fenders had to be changed as well the fenders look a like but are different if you notice the fenders on the older models was more squared the newer are more rounded, sec the side markers on the older are squared and the newer are more rounded as well and are not squared they are not the same

I did a front end swap from a 90 bronco to my 88-250 and is was pretty much a direct bolt on as you would expect but the alignment of the hood and fender on the right side had to be corrected by drilling new holes in the clip and frame so it could be align correctly. If you had doner parts I would not hesitate to bolt them on, you can get them to fit and look good with a little massaging. After all IT"S ONLY SHEET METAL.
