I would also just add the Ford Silver or Gold system to the truck rather than trying to "retro" something that was not ordered on the truck originally. You can also pick these sytems up on E-Bay for quite a bit less than the delaer and get instructions and programming info at www.gemsen.com/ford
I was looking at the aftermarket alarms systems, and have to agree that that may be the easier route, although I really would have liked the keyless entry.
The Ford Silver and Gold systems come with Keyless Entry as part of the package. The Silver System is Keyless with a Remote Start function added for those cold mornings when it needs to be warmed up.
I have a 2000 Superduty that I bought used 3 years ago. The dealer told me that I couldn't add keyless entry. I had a Bulldog key fob keyless entry installed by a local radio installer and it has worked flawlessly for me these past 3 years. Good Luck!
My wife has a 2000 Explorer without keyless entry. I did some research and found out that most late model Fords are compatible with keyless entry, all you need is a factory fob (Ebay, cheap). To find out if yours is set up, put the key in the ignition and turn it to the on position (not start) and back 8 times quickly. If your door locks cycle, you're good to go. To program a fob, do the same thing with the igintion, but when the locks cycle, press the lock button on the remote, done.
My 2 cents

Thats pretty good info. How would you program the locks not to lock when putting the car in gear, does anybody know??
The module only sinks 120mA, not enough to drive the solenoids, that is the reason why a relay is needed.
Works great, but will try the 8X key trick to see if it will accept factory keyfobs. I would think if that were true, that Ford wouldn't have specified that the keyless pad for the door will only work if the vehicle came with factory keyfobs, plus the wiring is different. Plus, if I had the factory keyfobs, I would have not needed the relays. Maybe the SuperDutys are setup different than Explorer's.
