I picked up my F350 with a PSD on Wednesday. Everything that talks about break-in says to put a moderate load on it at 1,000 miles. What is considered a moderate load? I was thinking I would use a car hauler weighing about 5,000 lbs, is this enough, too much? Thanks guys.
Follow your owners manual for towing. I believe it says no towing for 500 miles and drive at moderate speeds. I would not tow until 1000 miles. Then just take it easy on tow speeds until 1500 miles. A good indicator is watching your engine/tranny temps. If they start to rise back off on speed. Speed is where the heat buildup and wear starts. Use a premium fuel if available to prevent gelling or use a fuel additive until we get thru the Michigan winter cold season.
