leaf springs
I havw a 72 F100 2wd it has 5 leaf springs. To me it looks like it is at stock height but all the replacement springs I can find have 6 leafs. So how many is it suposed to have. My dad has a 79 that he added and extra leaf on each side so now it has 6 but it had 5 before and now it really sits at an angle.

My '76 f100 and '78 f100 both have 5 springs.When I first bought the '78 someone had taken one out to lower the rear but I put it back in.The '72 and '70 parts trucks I have both have 5 leaves.Hope this helps.

The number of springs in the rear depends on the GVW of the truck. I have 2 77's. My F100 has a GVW of 4900 lbs. and it has 5. My 77 F150 has a GVW of 6100 lbs. and it has 6. Most F100's Only have 5 I believe, but check the GVW on the ID tag or sticker in the door.
