I've seen a lot of posts about junkyard swaybars. Sounds like a good economical choice. So I have two basic questions
What models(F150, F250, F350, Exxx, Bronco) had what size sway bars as stock equipment? I hear a lot of talk about camper special etc, but it seems like they are too rare to wait on one showing up at a junk yard.
What years and or models interchange? Which parts have to stay with the sway bar? By interchange I mean stock mounting options with no or very minimal fabrication.
A member of our chapter has put a sway bar on his 68 F-100, i believe it was chebbie parts, but it works well and is pretty simple....here is a link to his gallery where the pics are, you can also pm him, im sure he will explain what he done in more detail.....

Looks good. I'm still leaning towards the stock ford parts as they attach further out on the I beams. The same diameter bar should give more force when attached further out.
A bronco would have stock sway bars, and there is just two bolts on the frame, and two u bolts on the axle holding it on.
They would be D44 and 9"
Camper specail would be HD44(I think) and D60.
I bought the front and rear sway bars from a 76 model Ford truck at the bone yard for 50 bucks. I bought a complete set of poly bushings from Jeff's bronco graveyard for 40 bucks. Total cost 90 dollars, and took about 4 hours and a 6 pack to install, and was also a direct bolt in for my 73 F100. There are actualy several places that you can buy the bushings, I ordered from Jeff's because they had some other items that I wanted so I just ordered everything at the same time.
Doc
*EDIT* I also found the bushings in my National parts Depot catalogue. They also sell an aftermarket bolt on kit that is 109.95 for the front and 109.95 for the rear. That probably isn't a bad price if you can't find originals. Also, do a search for sway bar information here at FTE. Several folks have used all sorts of junk yard options.

I love my front and rear Hellwig sway bars.... you all know I have a built 460 in him.... well yadda yadda yadda.... --BUT-- words can't describe the looks on peoples faces when I'm storming through the back woods of NW Georgia keeping up with a 'vette or porsche in a beat up looking '74 F-100!!!
