Garages

How many have a garage or work shop? I have a couple of very full shops and 7 full garages, seems like I need more space. Or do I need to sell some old trucks? Na, that isn`t even an option.

I have to build more garages on my place. It gets cold out for my trucks. I think they would love to be in out of the cold.
Fomoko you will never have enough garges for all your trucks. I say you need more the other trucks you are going to still be bringing home.

I have a shop, it is maybe 16x22 er so, its a nice little shop, and I wired, and insulated it myself, and even have wood heat in it Very nice to work in, although it could stand to be about 10 feet longer, and 10 feet wider

I have a 22x24 garage that works okay for me. One stall holds the Mustang crammed in the rest of space are 3 snowmobiles a 3 wheeler, work bench shelves, welder, grinder, tool box and then in the winter there is enough room for the van and in summer the SeaDoo goes in.
I am trying to insulate the ceiling thru Christmas this year and it should make it more useable in the winter.
My neighbour moved out of his house. He left behind a 24x30 garage next to mine and for 3 years i have reminded him that i want first dibs on his property. His garage would be great for storage of the boat and sleds and for doing dirty work in.

Heating is always an expensive problem, or so it seems.

The second garage has an old wood stove in it and wood shavings in the walls. He says the ceiling has 1960s fiberglass.
My garage is what I am trying to insulate while on Christmas vacation.....haven't got there yet but maybe on Thursday.
For heat i am using a kerosine heater with the fan. It's noisy and stinks a bit on start up but throws the heat nice and then i can put it away when not in use.

I have aold downdraft furnace thats not being used. I like to sell it, so if any of you guys would like a 90,000 BTU furnace to heat your garage give me a e-mail.
The good thing about the downdraft is you build a stand to keep it off the floor and with a curved duct it blows heat acroos the floor and heats that first then the heat rises. It came out of my mobile home I had.
I used kerosene heaters for years at my old place. The thing is they still produced CO2 and I always kept the trap door to the attic open to keep the garage vented for the fumes. Yes the fumes are not strong in smell, but carbon diox ide is still there. Learned about it one day working in the garage. Left the garage and got instant headache in the fresh air. So still becareful with kerosene.

The furnace you have for sale, is it natural gas/electric? I am not very familiar with different types.

It is Natural gas. They use these in mobile homes or houses with just crawl spaces under them or cabins with crawl spaces. This one will do 800 to 1000sq ft area.

I wish I had natural gas running up to my garage. Then It could be nice and warm all the time, instead of me having to go start a fire.

I would like to find an old diesel furnace and put it in the garage. Then I would just need a jerry can of fuel and just run it when I need it. A friend of mine has one in his garage and it works great.

One of my buds I work with had a diesel furnace, and he liked it to, expect for the fact that the cost of fuel went up so much. He said it was cheaper for natural gas, but he also ran it all the time.
