Embarrasing stories?

I've had a close call or two, but no damage done yet (knock on wood!). Well, just one. This past tuesday, some yuppie decided to make the left turn at an intersection in front of me, even though the cars were all backup up where he was turning into. So he effectively blocked both lanes heading through the intersection with me and cars infront of me doing 60kph.
I stopped an inch or two short of the car ahead.EDIT: ohhh, this is EMBARRASSING stories. LOL. I get a little crazy in the fresh snow on the neighborhood streets (extreme fishtails around corners). Well, i had a car tailgating me so at the next corner i decided to do the fishtail deal out of his way. I had a rare brain-fade moment and spun the truck on the street i was turning onto

One mid-September snowstorm at the ski-hill in BC where I used to live, I ditched my truck trying to avoid hitting an out of control Camaro with summer tires. While extricating myself from the ditch, I ripped the drivers door off the hinges in reverse. No worries, I carry bungee cords ...
But another hundred feet or so I realize I have a flat tire. So us three girls pile out of the truck and start getting the jack out, just when a little ratty car of four guys stops by to help. Now the manufacturer-supplied jack is remarkably ineffective in snow and despite that one of the guys really works at it for about an hour, the truck stays firmly planted on the snow. No worries, I have a BCAA membership (after all, who wants to drive an hour into town in a snow storm without a drivers door) ...
Remarkably enough, the BCAA system for retrieving cars at the ski hill is to meet the driver at the local bar. This is partly because they are unfamiliar with the private roads and lanes, and partly because they take so long to get to you that they want you to be comfortable, warm ... and ... whatever, I'm not going to DRIVE the tow truck so what's a little drink or ten?
So us three girls climb into the little car with the four guys and off we go to the bar to wait five hours for the tow truck ...
The bar bill was $270 ...
The repairs to the truck were about $3k ...
I saw the Camaro later that week in the owner's driveway, totally unscathed ...
And my best friend eventually married the young guy who worked so hard on the jack ... so it was all worth it ...

Even though it was about 2 am, I decided to go knock on the farm house door to ask for help. Thankfully, the gentleman that I woke up was kind enough to agree to pull the car out. He came down the driveway in his big school bus & looked the scene over & said he'd need the big tractor to get the car out.
After all was said & done, I didn't feel like such a hot shot anymore. We dumped the car near home & quietly went our separate ways.
Just another OOOOOOPS.

So there I was in my dad's 83 Ranger and the windows were all fogged up. So I reach up to wipe them off and I start to go to the right, but I don't notice because I am concentrating on wiping off the front windshield. Next thing I know I am being "sucked" into the snow bank and I am done.
The truck is 2 wheel drive and I am not going anywhere. My teacher drives by in a 2 wheel drive S10 and "tries" to pull me out but no way is it going to happen. So I call my dad and he comes over with his F150 and pulls me out in 2 seconds. Fun times.

I had barely gotten my license. We used to have fun out running the security gaurds up at York U. This was years ago before all the construction, the roads were wide with lots of round abouts. One winter we decided to head up to York U and slide around the parking lots before they got plowed. We had a blast doing donuts and seeing who could throw the biggest snow bursts by sliding threw the 2 foot drifts sideways. Me in dads 74 oldsmobile and my buddy in his dads Meteor. Well I spot a nice drift in the middle of the parking lot and I lined the car up for a perfect *** end slide threw it at a good clip. I get half way threw the drift and the car bounces back from hitting the curb/island burried under the snow. I can still feel the pain of my head snapping against the window! I can also still hear my buddies laffing! I took the car home with the back tire wobbling like it was about to fall off. Every time I came to a stop some concerned motorist would point out the obvious "your wheel is gonna fall off!"
Well, thank god for older brothers, I paid for a new rim and he replaced the bent axle! Dad suspected something but the shimmy disappeared before he figured it out.
Then there was the time I raced a off duty cop........

My buddy bought a 1984 Monte Carlo SS in 1990 or so. Not my kind of car, but he liked it. Anyway, one night we were at the Home Depot in Brampton (when it was called Aiekenhead's or something similar to that). It was late, about 10:00 and it had snowed a little - mabye 5 cm. My buddy decides an almost empy parking lot would be a GREAT place to pull a few donoughts.....
He drove to a very empty part of the parking lot and started going round and round and round.....suddenly *BAM!* the car comes to a complete stop so hard that I swear it lifted off the ground. We looked at each other, puzzeled, trying to figure out what happened. I open the passenger side door, he tries to open the driver door......
I get out of the car....seems he managed to hit the ONLY light in the parking lot...you know the ones in the cement bases.....
Man, that Monte Carlo was shaped like an "L" - completely wrapped around the base of the light!
I thought it was funny, still do. At the time he was a little ticked off at how long and loud I laughed....today though, he laughs as well when we recall the story.

You have brought back memories , back in the days of street racers ( not street ricers) my 72 small block nova was quite a piece to hang on to ...the picture goes like this , warm summer night , markham rd , my nova , and a shinny new 87 iroc with two guys a bit older than i was at the time , traffic lights just south of lawerance ave east, perfect no traffic , both of us at the red , the iroc revs the engine , i foot brake a small heat up of the rear tires , light goes green , i give the front bumper a visit from the inside with the bottom of my right foot, jam tranny into second gear , start hitting the brakes to stop at lawerance ave , doesn't the iroc's driver pull a badge , ( you think i would have known , the papers and news were talking about anti street racer units ...) yup even had a picture of an iroc and 5.0L mustang
what do you think was my reaction to the nice officer , get this into you , I ask him if thats all the force had to offer was a granny stock iroc , the light at lawerance turns green and i'm into it again , this time i don't bother stopping for him and get all the way to sheppard ave, and into the mall parking lot , for those of you that don't know scarborough to well , we are talking about 4-5 kms , my buddy kevin and i jump out of the car , almost make it into the KFC when two very upset policemen in a iroc come in the lot ,
a couple of yellow pieces of paper later and a $50 trip on a tow truck to dads shop what a fun 10 minutes , not exactly a story that follows the topic post but a stupid kid and a fast car story for sure

It was a cold March morning about 6 years back. One of the mares had decided to foal and there was a little difficulty but all turned out ok. I phoned the Vet he was on his way. He came in, treated the mare, went to leave to find Blue sitting there with 2 flat tires. ( some old fence posts had lifted with the frost to the one side of the drive and he hit them.)
Blue also hit one deer and had a yearling deer run into the door.
When the vet took sabaticle for a year, blue was leased with the practice. One stormy winter day they had parked Blue outside the clinic and left her running. Next thing they knew Blue was fish tailing down the driveway and leaving. The only thing the other vet was trying to figure out was how the guy kept her on the road cause at that point her ball joints were not good. 2 weeks later she was found abandoned at 6 nations indian reserve. She wasn't harmed. But all the vet drugs and equipment was gone.
Then there is the bent up front left fender which must be a heck of the story cause the vet wont tell me how it happened.
