Question New PSD owner!

Hey guys, this may be a very dumb question but I have to ask anyway, I'm new to driving a diesel, always had gas powered trucks so here goes, whenever I go home and leave the truck parked in the garage and not move it untill next morning every time I turn it on for the first time in the day white smoke comes out of the tailpipe, again this is only the first time, if I turn it back off and turn it back on it will not do it, is this normal?

Thanks

Yes it is normal for a diesel to do this a small bit on cold mornings. How cold is it where you are at. if it is not cold or it does this extremly bad you may have a couple glow plugs out or a bad glow plug relay. Enjoy your truck,

It's about 56 degrees in the morning, it is not bad at all, but it did get my attention when I first saw it! Thanks for the info.!

On the cold nights below 32 degrees I typically plug the block heater or oil preheater in to come on about 3-4 hours prior to startup in the morning.

Helps reduce warm up time and it's so much less noisy to boot
