Shaving my head

1990-351w.
how much can i shave off the head before my valves hit? I'm not sure where to find this information so I figured someone here would know.

Shave the heads... then get a 302. One of the displacement differences between the two engines is the height of the heads.

I believe the 302 and 351 have the same bore, but the 351 has a longer stroke. I remember hearing this when looking to replace my 351. This is why a stock 302 will beat a stock 351 in the 1/4. (shorter stroke)

I want to bump my compression a tad. I have to do head gaskets so i will have the heads off.
