Sticky Throttle?
I have an 05 Ranger with the 2.3 I 4 engine and manual trans. It seems to me that it takes too long for the rpm's to drop when shifting. It's hard to get a smooth upshift when I have to wait for the revs to drop. It has about 7000 mi on it. Any Ideas before I take it in under warranty? Other than this issue, I just love the thing. BTW, this is my first post though I have lurked for a while. Thanks!

I do believe that by nature, the RPMs will hang a little bit. el conquistador might have the right solution with a new TB. If it's exceeding your expectations of how long it should be hanging, get it checked out; you are on warranty after all.

'93 Sticky Throttle
Just wondering if this was also the same issue on the '93 Rangers with the I4 and manual transmission. After coming to a stop at a light the idle hangs at 1500 rpms for a few seconds and then drops to roughly 900 and stays there.
