5w oil
well its been getting colder and colder here and it time for my next oil change in my 2.9. Well i have been woundering if i should use a lighter oil. right now i am using a 10w40 synthtic in weather that is a constant 35 high and 20s low. Recently i will be moving a few states north were the weather is colder and the morning starts are harder. i was thinking about changing the oil to a 5w synthtic doind a compleat motor flush and adding either lucus or some other additive to help. any ideals?

If you want to stay with a 40 weight, there are several excellent 5w40's from which to choose. M1 Truck and SUV is very good and Shell Rotella synthetic is a sleeper oil at a bargain price. If your engine does not use oil you could try 5w30 synthetic. Since you have been using a synthetic oil I'm not sure you need to flush the engine or use any addatives.
