got a question

i have a 302 and there is a hose coming from the back of the motor. the person that had the truck before put a sparkplug in it and when ever i take the sparkplug out it sucks in air . my qestion is what is this hose and what does it hook up too????

This is just a guess, but do you mean the back of the intake manifold? If so, depending on the year, it's part of the EGC system (which consisted of a plate under the carb with the hose coming out the rear). You can have it repaired, or if the vehicle is smog exempt, just leave it plugged. Or, it may just be a vacuum tap and the back of the manifold for power brakes, etc.

what year truck are we talking about here. efi or carb?

it is a 81 ford f150 302 carb

Sounds like the PCV hose...can you describe it in a more detailed way?
