[updated:LAST EDITED ON 13-Dec-01 AT 09:42 PM (EST)]In my continuing work to restore my 77 F-150 I am to the visors. The interior is in fantastic shape but the little arms that held the visor out of the way when not in use broke (not the ones that hold the entire visor to the ceiling but the little ones just above the center of the windshield.) At any rate, they appear to have been made of britle plastic. I got some new metal ones from "Obsolete Ford Parts" but I can't seem to get the remainder of the old ones out. Anyone ever taken one out. I can't feel through the visor so as to be able to determine how far back the arms were inserted in the visor. Anyone ever fixed this problem?
Thanks
GAB
Take a scribe and heat it up with a torch.
Insert the hot end(of course) into the grey plastic as far as you can.
Let cool, come back later and pull it out.
I replaced mine with visors I picked up in a junk yard. Same problem as you have with the ends. The opposite end (that swivels in the bracket) also pulls out. I pulled the opposite end out, and shoved a long metal rod (coat hanger won't work - need something rigid) and pushed the broken end out from the opposite side. I like the first post's idea. - I'd try that first, coat hanger might work with that tip.
