I have looked at several II's. An 1989 4x4 and a 1988 2wd. Is there anything in particular to look for. Both were well over 100K. $2500 price range. Both oddly had power steering leaks. Looked like a hose or the pump was leaking.
The 2wd steering was loose. I think maybe a bad pitman or idler arm. I am really don't care one way or the other for 2 or 4wd. Seems 2wd would be less to go wrong. Both were XLT models with all power options. The 2wd model had a new auto trans. And the 4wd was a 5 speed. Both were rust free. I am leaning torward the 2wd model as it's a 2 owner with 135K. It needs some clean up a tail pipe and the leaking power steering fixed and maybe a few front end parts replaced. Is $2500 to much. The guy is asking $2800 he is trying to recoop the $1400 in recent repairs.
lol hed sed recoupe the recent 1400 in repairs if you by the truck youll be spending another 1,400 in repairs go with the 4x4 if the 4x4 breaks so what if it works hey its there if you need it the 5 speed is better over the auto lasts longer and the auto tranny is know for bugs and early need of overhual
