I wonder if Ford Motor Company has someone reading our articles. We all rant and rave how we love our 300 sixes. Maybe that's why Ford is thinking about bringing it back.

Here is a cool, fairly inexpensive idea for Ford (cheap, in fact, 'cause I'm giving the idea away!):
1. Ford has a precedent for this one: They converted their former 4.0L pushrod engine to 4.0L SOHC, which lives now in the Explorer (I think);
2. GM has recognized the values inherent in the I-6 architecture (if not packaging limitations), and updated it with modern electronics and airflow management;
3. Ford: Go do the same with the 4.9L as you've already done with the 4.0L, and then go abuse poor GM's sales some more!
Eddie: I think your right, though my dream is a 5.9 liter pushrod inline low-revving high torque six. I am afraid they will run an overhead camshaft with a rubber band.
