460 won't start when warm
I have a 1988 FI 460 that starts good when cold, but after it warms up to operating temp. it is very hard to re-start. It is also idling a little high too. Any ideas???

i am almost positive it is your timming. best way is with a timming light or if your like me and are old school just lossen your dis bolt and start truck turn dis eather way till it idals were ya want it than try it after it warms up you might need to do it a few times but if ya can use a light it is faster and better

I'll try to re-time it, I did use a timing light the first time, but I'm not sure it was in neutral? I did take the spout out, and set it right though, ( 10 btdc) It runs great other than this problem, besides only getting 7 1/2 mpg on my first tank,

does it have a vacuum advance?? it could be sticking on you...mine does that occasionally and i have to tap it(vac adv.) to get the motor to turn over...it could also be your starter, usually when they start going you notice it when the engine is warm, cause the starter gets hot easily then....
