Hi, Bill here from Gulf Shores, AL. Just wanted to post a hello -- we are (FINALLY!) owners of an Expedition. After weeks of looking we finally found an '03 EB 4x4. We also own a '97 Exploder Sport 4x4 with 140k miles (4.0 SOHC) so no newcomers to the Blue Oval. We will be making some fashion statements first (bug shield, window deflectors, Husky mats) before actually putting her into service -- as well as a 40K service (just for caution), Slick 50 treatment, and (probably) new pads all 'round.
FWIW, it took three weeks of searching. We could NOT find the right combo within 500 miles of home: 4x4, leather, 5.4L, under 50k miles. Our local Ford dealer showed us an '04 for $28.5k (XLT) that (a) wouldn't start, (b) had cobwebs in the back (!!!) (c) was a smoker's car and (d) had not even been lightly detailed. Incredible...we couldn't believe they were trying to sell it in that condition -- their excuse was "we don't have a lot boy". They also will NOT have our (service) business!
