CEL, o2 slow response

My check engine light came on, got codes scanned and it said B1S1 and B2S1 circuit slow response, just indicating a faulty sensor and once replaced everything sha'll be alright?

If life were so simple....It senses a slow response but doesn't tell you why. This is your job to troubleshoot. I see you have a real time scanner from your other post on engine temp. Look at the O2's and see if they are switching about .45V. Should go up and down and pretty fast like a couple times a second. If it takes 5-10 seconds to swithc, then the PCM is tell you the right thing. new O2's might do it but if the car is running rich or lean do to another bad component, then the O2's are doing their job and reporting a bad situation. That's part of why they are there - to tell you when something is wrong.

When O2 codes come up I always tell people to first pull your plugs - all of them. Look for signs of what's going on inside the engine. You might find a true rich condition with black plugs, or lean with white ones. If you know what's going on inside, then we cane help steer you to what might be making the O2's not switch fast enough.

Those were the only codes that popped up. With the truck having 180,000 km's and me not knowing when the last time things were changed, I was hoping new o2's would solve the problem. I'll try and pull the plugs to see what they look like.

Pulled plugs 4,5,6 they all look the same 1,2,3 are to hard to get at, here's a pic. Now, my temp gauge is going wonky too, had infrared thermometer on water neck to confirm that it's not just a wacky temp sensor. Takes a bit to heat up, but the gauge will flucuate from half to the top line of the cold mark. Temp will change from 198 down to 150 just like that. I've put 2 thermostats in and its still doing it. Could this be a result of the CEL? Engine is heating up to temp correctly so the fuel mixture is going haywire???

What code numbers did you get? I want to see if they were just slow swiching O2's or if they were lean too. How deos your radiator look? Are you getting a bubble stream? I'm hinting at a blown head gasket.

What do you mean bubble stream?

I'm getting ****ty flow, my buddy said it could just need a rad flush. Hard to tell if there's smoke coming from the tailpipe because it's cold here.

Codes:

P0133 O2 Sensor Circuit Slow Response (Bank 1 Sensor 1)
P0153 O2 Sensor Circuit Slow Response (Bank 2 Sensor 1)

I hope to god it isnt a blown headgasket...Cant afford that right now

Yes I verify your codes/descriptions. If you have a leak from the high pressure cylinder side into a water jacket, you will get a steady stream of bubbles out your radiator. Pull the cap and look when it's warmed up. The other obvious sign is a loss of radiator fluid. If you have such a serious engine temp fluctuation and the new thermostats did not cure it, plus the O2 sensors are reporting an issue, then I would suspect coolant in the exhaust. Kepp searching.

hmmmm, I did not see any bubbles when I filled the coolant back up, nor is there any oil in the coolant or coolant in the oil. Coolant is topped up so I dont think it's going anywhere, I havent checked for a few weeks maybe I should do that today to make sure. Best case scenario, the o2 sensors are just old and it's just time to replace? From the picture, the spark plugs are looking ok?
