1.What is the purpose of the GPR?
2.What are signs/symptoms of a dying GPR?

Th eglow plug relay is how the glow plugs are powered.

It gets hard to start in the cold when the relay or plugs go bad.

It's just like a starter solenoid, looks like one two. It has two big posts (one from the battery and the other to the glow plugs) and two little posts (one that has 12V switched on with ignition and one that the PCM provides the ground for). I'm currently having a glow plug problem and it's either the PCM or the Engine Oil Temperature sending unit that tells the PCM the engines up to temp and don't provide a ground for the GPR. Still doing research (when I have time during the "holidaze").

Hummm......ok. Probably should start with maybe some poor batteries to rule that out first thought sounds good right?

YUP. When my batteries died, the truck would still turn over, but it wouldnt fire up. Good place to start. Happy holidays to all!
