Well I joined the forum to do some research on Fords! I'm lookig to replace my current '88 F-250 4x4, 460, with something more RELIABLE! I found basically the same truck configuration in a 2000 model today (V-10) but have heard rumor that the auto transmissions are junk!
I will be using this truck the same as my old one. I Own a lawn service (as does half the world, lol) and pull a 20' landscape trailer daily in stop and go in town traffic. The auto. trans. is really the option I like, tho I know it's not ideal for towing. My current truck is outfitted with a electric over hydraulic hoist flat bed dump, also has 2' tall sides and a expanded metal fold down rear gate. I want to *try* to find a truck that this can be swapped over to, hence my looking at the 2000 Ford.
I am quite fimiliar with the V-bulletin message boards so I will use the search feature to find some info I need!
Thanks for having this active site, I look forward to learning!
