I was just wondering what everyone uses to lubricate their vehicle's door hinges latches etc. I have been using a spray silicone lubricant. I was just curious if there was something better to use.
PJ-1 motorcycle chain lube, sprays on, penetrates then gets real sticky after the solvents evaporate. With the environment stress chain rollers work under i'd say its good enough for door hinges. Use the plastic tube or you'll have a sticky dirt trap. For door latches a teflon grease used for trailer hitch ***** works great.

Here is my thought.
The grease will help the roller part to be smooth and collect alot of dirt/dust.
Trying to get lube into the hinge bushings is different, that's the part that will wear out and make your door sag. You need something thin to get in there and you want it to leave some oil behind. I have been using CRC Power Lube for a while and it seems to do the job.
Thanks for all of the input. I have been happy with the silicone spray, but it doesn't seem to last all that long. I just put some spray on white lithium grease on them and the door operation is smooth, but there is somewhat of a mess left behind. I wiped that off, so now I'll just have to see how long this lasts. Maybe that CRC power lube would be worth a shot next time. While we are on the topic of door hinges, does anyone know if you can easily replace the plastic/nylon roller. That is with out removing the door. If it is a large project I'll just leave it alone.
