Power Steering noise

At work, weve got an 02 7.3L F250 CC 4x4, with about 210,000 miles. Lately, whenever we turn the wheels, theres a lound whining noise coming from the engine. My guess is that its the power steering pump. We checked the fluid, and it was a little low. The noise is still there, but its not as bad. What else can we do?

Thanks.

Any takers?

Do you think that because the sound is still there that the pump is going bad?

I would check the ball joints. If they're bad and dry they could be putting a strain on the pump.

on edit. It could be the pump given the mileage but it wouldn't hurt to check the ball joints.
