Belt Size?
Well, When I put the underdrive pulleys crank/w.pump they came with a recommended belt.
Now I am putting in a shorter alt pully (current 2.5", New 1.78")
I am thinking of going with the OEM size belt now and replacing the belt tension with a Dayco Automatic Tensioner. Would this be okay?
Or how do I make sure I have the correct belt?

the tensioner should take the slack. I used the stock belt. With the smaller alt pully I got a lot of belt slip. To difficult to get the belt just right without slip and was having charging problems--due to the slipage, truck wouldn't start leaving me asking for a jump in the parking lot. After all was said and done, i went back to stock pullies and belt.
